Allison's Fantastic Narrative of her iLASIK!

ALLISON: My current vision is -8. On a day to day basis, if I don't have my contacts in or wear my glasses I can see clearly about four to five inches from my nose. That is about what I can see clearly at this point.

I decided to go with the LASIK because I believe I'm a good candidate from our consultation that we had the other day. Of course, I want the instant gratification. I want to see the results as soon as possible.

DR. FELDMAN: Allison was looking to get rid of her glasses because of fear in an emergency setting. She is a new mother and has three young children. She was looking to enjoy life without her glasses.

ALLISON: I have been experiencing 15 years of really poor vision and it has gotten worse over time. Now I just need to be more flexible with my life. I need to react quickly to situations having small kids, three kids under three years. They are still very, very young. I need to be able to hop out of bed and run to whatever their needs may be.

DR. FELDMAN: The procedure I performed on Allison was the iLASIK procedure. She had a high prescription and customizing the procedure with the custom LASIK gives a better quality of vision, especially at night. Almost everyone sees 20/20 or better.

ALLISON: My experience having this procedure was an easy one. Coming in, having my assessments taken beforehand was pleasant. The actual procedure was quick. I had no issues. I went home, slept for about four hours and woke up feeling great!

I noticed my vision improving right when I sat up immediately following the procedure. They asked me to read the clock on the wall. They told me it would look as though it was underwater, that was true; but, never before could I actually read a clock on any wall!

DR. FELDMAN: When you look at a person after laser vision correction, and especially Allison, their smile is one of the first things when they come into the office that I notice. People just have an internal smile and beam after vision correction surgery.

ALLISON: My overall success is very good. I have not reached 20/20 yet because I had a very poor eye prescription to begin with. However, I'm very close to that and I would say it is still better than any day that I had with my contacts or my glasses.

ALLISON: Dr. Feldman did meet my expectations. Now that I have my vision as my own, not contacts and not glasses, that in itself buys me freedom. I can do whatever I want to do at any time of the day or night and not have to worry about contact lenses or glasses. I can play with my kids. I can go to work. I can read small print on boards. I can do anything! I am absolutely looking forward to the final result 3, 6, 12 months down the line when the healing has completely finished and my vision has stabilized. I think it's going to be excellent. I'm hoping for 20/20 and I think Dr. Feldman feels the same way.
